ifttt - short for ‘if this then that’ - is a pretty cool online social networking app that helps you share just one post on multiple sites. Of course most online apps/sites like tumblr has a cross-posting feature to Twitter and Facebook. With ifttt I can create a Task that will post the same thing I’m posting on my tumblr to my posterous blog, Facebook Page, send to my Gmail and many more.
As you can see from the above, I’m now able to share my Foursquare check-ins on my Facebook Page also instead of just only my main Facebook Profile. For Instagramers, you can have the option to send the photos you uploaded to your Dropbox which instantly gives you a backup of the photos you posted or you can share it straight on Flickr.
If you’re quite clueless on what Task you can create, have a look at Recipes. Those are Task created by other users which you can simply use and modified to your preference. Anyway, I’ve said enough, time for you to explore. The site is probably the most minimalist I’ve seen ever but it gets the job done. I’d vote it app site of the year.
